Update – Five Bucks Fund
In our first newsletter we featured yogi Veronica Shumack. She created the Five Bucks Fund to help rebuild in the Philippines after 2013’s Typhoon Yolanda.
You can read her story here and be impressed by her dedication to follow through on wanting to be a catalyst for change. We were, and thought this is the perfect place for Veronica to share a quick update on just what can be achieved when a like-minded community reaches out to help.

Veronica: The efforts of the Five Bucks Fund have been realised – and superseded. Together with the help of 118 Kiwi’s, the appeal managed to raise enough funds to build two homes in Tacloban, Philippines. The local community and All Hands volunteers identified the Sarvida family to receive the first home. This young family of seven were on site every day helping to build their new home and happily moved in on the 31st January. The fund is working with the All Hands team to identify the next family. A big thank you to the generosity of New Zealanders.

Thanks Veronica! And thank you lovely people who checked back and wanted to know how successful fundraising had been. We look forward to introducing you to more Yogis Doing Good. They are AWESOME!
If you’d like to contribute to the Five Bucks Fund you can make contact through their Facebook page here and see photos of the building project and the Sarvida family.
