4/50 Someone Should Write A Song About Me
- Sunday feels
I remain resistant to Sundays. I find it a tricky little day that, on the one hand wants you to relax, nest in your home environment or enjoy fun times with your loved ones but on the other BIGGER hand, it wants you to feel overwhelmed and remember you have not cleaned the shower properly in three weeks, you have a Weekend List that’s not getting any shorter (since you started it in January and brought all those storage boxes for sorting, ah, storage) so you may as well take a quick nap to ease those heart palpitations. Then you wake up and it’s dark and you start to resist Monday. Tricky little f****r.
- Yin feels
Often for this reason I try and get to a late afternoon or early evening yin class. Which is happening right this very minute. Without me. So, let me share me with you what I could be enjoying if I hadn’t set myself a fab challenge of writing a blog post every day for 50 days AND not whine about it, which I’m not doing.
Obviously if you’re a yogi in the know, you’ll be familiar with yin and have probably at some point gone through a love/not-love-or-even-like relationship with this gorgeous practice. The first time I was introduced to it I was both internally yawning and outwardly hurting. It’s all about stretching (a word we’re not really allowed to use in yoga. Why is that?) our fascia in slow, carefully aligned (most often with props) lengthy poses. And oh, sweet Baby Jane* it feels good. So good. Both during and especially after. If you’ve never tried this style of yoga, get ye on the mat now! You will float through the evening… Unless you’re writing a blog post. Sigh.
*James Taylor. Big crush on him when he was in the midst of his drug addiction. (I was only aged one or two then so crush came later. Obvs.) Sadly a common theme of my crushes as I am the whitest brown girl that there ever was. Also the actual name of the song is Sweet Baby James but I was convinced it was all about me. Also, also, such a great name for a baby. Just saying!
- Cleanse –ish
Today I have only eaten 40 dark chocolate almonds and I can honestly say I feel lighter, freer and my skin is glowing.
I am, again, available for close-ups.
How was your weekend? All good feels, I hope?

You need to save 20 chocolate almonds for me next time please.
I really wish I could promise that.
