32/50 Don’t Panic

1. I am a little panicked

Because I’m going away in less than two weeks and I don’t know where to start. I need to sort out what I need to get done before I go, how I work while I’m away and what’ll be waiting for me when I get back.

And what to pack, where to go, who I need to contact and HOW TO DO ALL THE THINGS!

(Currently on foetal position on the ground. Give me a minute.)

Not helped by my husband casually asking me not to get arrested.

Now it seems inevitable.

2. Buses

Buses completely freak me out. This is a relatively new thing that has grown over the last few years, decade possibly. (Wait. I sense a pattern. Just now. Right.)

And oh my giddy aunt, they sway, the double decker ones especially. I hold my breath passing by and break a sweat. Every. Single. Time. The thought of getting on one makes me beyond anxious and a new thing (I mean, yay!) is watching buses on television now brings about almost the same response.

(I don’t know how to say this but I’m the same with swings. Makes me hyperventilate watching anyone on them.)

Anyway, taking my neurosis to where I’ll be appreciated and most likely completely normal. Coming for ya, Amurrrricaaa.

3. Mistakes not to repeat

I’m going to try and not last-minute pack a ball gown, tennis gear and a manicure home kit.

Accidently happened before and apart from the ball gown worn out of context the other items were completely unnecessary.

I don’t even play tennis.

But you see, already my mind is racing ahead to possibly hiking in LA and horse riding in Central Park.

I AM NOT GOING TO PANIC.
