The Journey
This journey began well over a year and a half ago. Before we were even sure we were bringing Wanderlust down under we had set our sights on Great Lake Taupo. We researched locations and venues all over the country and Taupo stood out, having the best accommodation and outdoor activity, while being very accessible to all Kiwis.

Currently, we have eight people on our core team across Australia and New Zealand, our team in New York City and a handful of other local contractors that make up the Wanderlust family.

Mindful Madness
There is an air of madness in the office, albeit mindful madness! We try to practice what we preach and still live mindfully. For some of us it means setting aside quality time for our families, for others it means maintaining a steady meditation practice and for all of us it means always working towards our goal, which is to ‘create community around mindful living’.

Everyone on the team believes in what we are creating and is passionate about the events. So amidst the madness, yes there is a lot of excitement and anticipation!

The Matrix
Luckily for us Jonnie has been producing large-scale festivals for over 15 years and Jacque has been teaching yoga for over eight years. We’re both particular about our food and what we purchase, so everything has to meet up to our standards and the standards of our awesomely mindful team.

But just to give you an idea of what numbers are involved:
250 yoga blocks
150 bolsters
100 trifold or meditation pillows
6 portaloos (premium flushable!)
2000 square meters of marquee
+
100% compostable food service utensils

Connection
Last year we saw so many connections made at our Wanderlust In The City events, many of which led to life-changing moments and life-long friendships. We also made our own personal connections with many people that we now cherish and love.

Hope
To live more mindfully… We’ve been working our butts off to help promote and effect positive change. If at least 30% of our attendees’ walk away feeling inspired then we’ve done our job!

At the very least Wanderlust is a good time. At best it’s a transformational experience.
