Farewell 2017!
1. Thanks for making me 50
Seriously, I mean that. Next year apparently I’m going to be 51 and I’m into it, withered old limbs and all.
Young or old you’ll be living this with me. Every. Step. Of. The. Way.
Sorry.
2. Thanks for reminding me that life goes on
I’m not trying to be a grinch or a big downer but I find the whole New Year thing completely overwhelming.
Letting go.
Making space.
Taking up challenges.
NOT EATING FOOD RESOLUTIONS.
Resolutions that make me hyperventilate (see above).
Etc.
I never know where to start because, good lawd, there are so many areas I could dip into to become a better, organised, all-round better human. That’s a lot to think about.
Luckily, in January we’re moving so I’ve spent a lot of time not packing leaving mucho time to have a wee overthink.
I haven’t come through with a resolution as such because overthinking doesn’t particularly work well for me but I have found a teensy bit of clarity amongst the chaos. What I’ve learnt this year, amongst the high highs (my trip!) and the low lows (fuck me!) is that life really does carry on. How we deal with all the stuff that comes our way, either intentionally or, you know, via the universe, is ENTIRELY up to us.
I expect you already know this.
I did in theory but actually factually putting it into practice, that’s where my yoga comes in.
I expect you knew I was going to say that.
3. Thank you
Thank you, you glorious humans who have read my posts and commented or shared them.
I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart and hope you don’t mind if I keep going.
Yoga, not yoga, life, random musings and excellent advice; sometimes short, sometimes longer… it’s my contribution to The Yoga Connection.
So. Not sure who it benefits or what it does for your mental health but it does wonders for mine.
What can I say? Overshare! Happy New Year!
Thoughts? Plans for the NYE? I’m stepping outside my safety zone and heading out for a couple of drop-in’s! I know! Who am I?! I’ll need to be home in time for my sleeping tablet though…

Thanks for sharing, my lovely friend! Your writing brings joy, tears and laughter as well as providing us with things to ponder about life, the universe and of course yoga. You are more talented than you know! Wishing you everything wonderful in 2018 xx
Oh Ingrid, that is the loveliest thing you could have said to me. Thank you so much and thank you for all your support. I count myself so lucky to have you a friend. Much love as always for 2018 xx
Happy new year Jane! All the best with the packing.. it sucks but it’ll be so worth it!
Happy New Year to you too, lovely! It definitely does but I can see light at the end of the tunnel… it always feels so good to declutter or downsize as we’re doing. xx
