Best Tips Ever

1. Decluttering

I’m moving house just after Christmas.

Hurrah.

Instead of starting to sort things I’ve been interneting the fork out of fabrics to reupholster our sofa and find a new desk for me. And ALL I can find is a vast array of organic rescued twigs smoothed out for a cool twenty-one zillion buckeroos at least that will probably hold no more than my laptop.

Good use of time. Which is why when I saw this ESSENTIAL tip I read it with bated breath knowing it was going to save me.

Find someone who needs, wants, or appreciates that object MORE.

As always, simple and straight to the point gets my attention.

As always, it’ll be a lot harder than it sounds. (Remember those YouTube videos for folding fitted sheets? Exactly.)

But I’m going to use it as my moving mantra. The ideal being for me come out the other side a die-hard minimalist with a capsule wardrobe of fifteen items and artfully placed succulents.

2. Don’t leave everything to the last minute

This doesn’t just apply to moving, it applies to life.

I’ve never actually experienced it myself but I’ve heard really good things about it.

3. Share the bounty

In a way this relates to number one BECAUSE I’M MOVING IN EARLY JANUARY.*

But really it’s because I want to say thank you and I thought rather than a giveaway giveaway I’d put some goodies together I’ve been gifted over the last while from brands and PR companies and share them with my pals on social.

Not the foot guy though; he seems to do just fine letting me know how happy a toe in a square makes him.

Anywhoo, look for details on Facebook and Instagram and you’ll need to be checking in with TYC Insta Stories to see the goods. I will (naturally) cram all twelve giveaways in over this week starting with three tonight.

Makes perfect sense.

*Deep breaths, deep breaths.

Any top tips? For anything? I am remarkably open to being saved.

We recently moved after 13 years in one spot. We sorted a pile of things to take and a pile of things to throw/gift. A company called Clutterbox provides this kind of service too, which would have been perfect! Yay to less stuff, go well xx

Oh awesome! Thanks for the recommendation. I actually did a big clear out the last time we moved but you know … things creep back in and this time we’re seriously downsizing. I’m actually quite excited about less stuff, it’s just a bit overwhelming to get started! Thanks lovely xxx
